4Excellent Shield, But Installation Could Have Been Better
By Johnny Saigon®
Let me get to the point. The problem with this hood shield is that the instructions are horrible. It stated you should put the screws together with its sheathe to install into the holes on the underside of the hood. However, you are really supposed to put the sheathe separate, in between the hood and the installation side of the shield, and then screw them together. I did not find this out until much trial and error, resulting in one lost screw/sheathe set because it kept falling out while I was trying to screw it together per the instructions, and one set fell into the engine compartment and lost to the void.

As for the shield itself, it's very stylish, and practical. It's a semi-flexible hard plastic material, and it's very thoughtful of them to provide 4 rubber stoppers to stick to your hood to prevent scratches from any accidental bumps.
With the shield on, it gives the new Sienna an even more menacing look.

A small quibble is they also give you a very campy logo sticker for you to put on the shield to advertise their brand. On the shield itself is already an embossed logo, but thankfully it is transparent enough so that you won't notice it unless you're really up close. IT's a good thing they give you a semi-choice; I recommend you leave the shield commando style as the logo sticker takes away that dark menacing look the shield has.

3Installing was a bit frustrating
By Junilu Lacar
Giving a neutral rating for now. The shield fits perfectly on my 2013 Sienna but I will see how this works after some use. For now, I'll just cover packaging and installation. Synopsis: Installation took more effort than I expected. The box this comes in seems way bigger than it needs to be with no protection against damage while shipping.

Installation, per the instructions, should have been less than 5 minutes but it took longer than that because the screws on the fasteners need to be pushed in and that takes some effort to do; you have to push in hard until you get the threads to pop a couple of times before you can screw it all the way down. After struggling a bit with the first two fasteners, I got the remaining two in quicker since by then I knew how much effort I had to exert to get it to pop in. I used a smaller flathead screwdriver since the "phillips" slot on the plastic screws is really too shallow to use a phillips screwdriver effectively.
Since others had complained about losing their fasteners during installation, I draped an old picnic blanket over the engine while I was installing the shield. A good idea because the fasteners popped out a few times during installation and the blanket kept them from falling into the engine compartment. I recommend installing the fasteners one at a time, keeping the rest in the bag in the meantime to minimize the risk of losing anything. I agree with the reviewer who said that AVS should include some extra fasteners in case you lose or break some during installation.

Like another reviewer, I stuck the little bump pads on the underside of the shield at the tips where they were most likely to bend back and touch the hood. The instructions say to stick the bump pads on the hood itself but on the shield works better for me.

As also noted in another review, the box this product comes in seems way too big. The shield and everything else (4 plastic fasten ers, 4 bump pads, AVS logo, and the instruction sheet) is wrapped in plastic and that's it, no padding or styrofoam or anything that would require such a big box. No biggie but you'd think they'd put something in to protect the product against damage during shipping.

5Yes this fits the SE model, theres only one hood for sienna.
By B. Rowland
Amazon said "this will not fit your vehicle" but avs said otherwise. Avs does not pack them ... Well... At all... Just a one size fits all box with some cellophane on the part in question. Arrived in better condition than my visors though. Fits perfectly with no drilling. Just toyota style 2 part fasteners that line up with holes already in your hood. Put in the wide part then shove a threaded pin into the middle. They have screw heads for future removal. Too late for my poor hood, but the black deflector on my black se looks good and covers up the dings it already has.
